Paul Haines worked with Singapore GP throughout 2015 & 2016 to conceptualise and deliver on the inaugural Fit For Racing event leading into the 2015 FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX in September. Together with the Singapore GP team, he successfully designed an eight-week online ‘Boot Camp’ demonstrating Formula 1 specific strength and conditioning exercises that the general public could participate in.

In August, Paul also hosted the Singapore GP’s inaugural Fit For Racing Finale event where over 600 Singaporeans competed. The event was a huge success, and gave the public an understanding on the physical requirements of Formula 1 drivers.

Paul’s in-depth knowledge of Formula 1 as well as his friendly personality, greatly assisted with the overall success of the Rev Up Singapore! Fit For Racing campaign.

Paul's approach to my rehab following a serious back injury and his knowledge and expertise were exceptional.

He motivated and pushed me to reach my limits whilst continuously collaborating with my surgeon, physio and team management to ensure the recovery from my injury was progressing safely.

Paul’s programming has allowed me to successfully return to competition at the MX Nationals.

PERFORM assisted with my rehabilitation from injury at the Dakar Rally after I broke my femur, Paul gave me a support network so that all areas of my program were covered while I completed both rehab work and conditioning to make sure my body was ready for the bike when I got back onto two wheels!

Having competed in the Supercars Series for 15 years I understand and respect the physical and mental demands of the sport. To ensure continued success and longevity in my career, it’s extremely important for me to collaborate with someone that has a holistic approach to performance.

Since 2013, Paul Haines has been working with me as my Physical Performance Coach. Paul regularly provides a performance program that allows me to drive at my best every race weekend and more importantly, consistently perform throughout an entire season. The performance program includes conditioning, weight training, injury prevention and recovery protocols individualised to my specific needs as a driver in the Supercars Series.

As a result of Paul’s motivating approach and detailed performance programming, I’ve continually made improvements to my physical capabilities, which has contributed to my ongoing success as a Supercar Driver.

I've had the privilege of working with Paul for four years at the Geelong Football Club, followed by another two years at the Gold Coast Football Club. I consider Paul to be the "ultimate professional" always going above and beyond.

I remember Paul being the first person to arrive at the club as well as the last person to leave the club on a daily basis.

Paul was the type of person who would set the bar high and made sure that he settled for no less. One thing that I really admired about Paul was his ability to genuinely care for those around him.

He would challenge you and encourage you all at the same time. Constantly making sure you were reaching your maximum potential.

Elite athlete management can be an enigma. Keeping the athlete on the park and performing at their best as they push their bodies to the limit, both in training and on game day, is a challenge for all health professionals. Every athlete is different and requires a unique management key to unlock their potential. I believe this is where Paul is different.

Paul engages with all the treating health care practitioners taking in all their relevant information. Based on his own assessment and the athletes’ requirements, Paul builds a very comprehensive performance enhancement training plan. Paul’s depth of experience allows him to read the uniqueness in the athlete and develop a tailored plan to seek out the athlete’s best performance and/or to promote recovery in the quickest time possible.

The gem within this approach is that Paul minimises injury risk and maximises reward by constantly modulating the program through strong communication with the athlete.

With this Paul acts as a mentor, both when times are tough and the gold is running.

Paul’s breadth of knowledge across both allied health and medicine, combined with a deep understanding of elite sport, strength, conditioning and rehabilitation and has made the experience of working alongside him and the athletes’ incredibly enjoyable, and the results have followed.

I can’t recommend Paul any more highly for his incredible expertise and professionalism. After training on my own for 8 months to compete in the 100m and 200m at the World Masters Athletics, I made the decision to appoint Elite Performance Coaching. This was just 12 weeks before the competition, so it wasn’t a lot of time for Paul to prepare me to be as best as I could possibly be.

Paul built a very specific training program to get me sprinting as strongly as I could, it was tailored and built upon the previous weeks work. I am someone who has always been fit and trained hard, so no-one could have been more surprised than me at how my body was transformed in such a short time. His incredible expertise and knowledge delivered a program that increased my muscle mass, decreased my body fat and importantly built my speed and endurance.

A significant strength of Paul’s is his approach to injury management. I was managing some injuries, and he worked collaboratively with my physio, chiro and sprint coach, and all the while was so reassuring to me. I never once felt like things weren’t possible because he always spoke with such assurance and optimism.

I can’t express how great it felt to simply open an email at the beginning of the week, with a full week’s worth of challenging and interesting workouts all prepared for me. These were supported with specific notes, as well as check-in text messages, emails and phone calls to constantly make sure I was on the right track and executing the program correctly.

Over the 12 weeks there were times where I felt confident and strong, and there were times where I was filled with self-doubts – but Paul was always there as my backbone through it all, guiding, supporting and encouraging. It made all the difference. The result? I met my lofty goal of making the finals in the 200m, ending 7th against some of the best in the world, and I won a gold medal in the 4 X 100m relay! Way exceeding my highest hopes, dreams and expectations.

If you want a competitive edge, and to partner with someone who is totally as committed to your journey as you are, then engage Paul Haines, you won’t be sorry.

I first met Paul in October 2006, when I was a player at Geelong Football Club and he had just been appointed as a Conditioning Manager.

From the beginning I was impressed by not only his great knowledge and professionalism, but also his appetite to help people get the best out of themselves.

He is a very energetic and enthusiastic person who has a real care for the people he works with and will leave no stone unturned to make sure that he gives his clients the most care and information possible so they can excel at whatever goals they have set for themselves.

I experienced these characteristics first hand in 2009 when I ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during a football match. I can honestly say, if not for Paul’s attention to detail, energetic personality, patience and knowledge, coupled together with his ability to transform mundane exercises into something fresh and motivating, my career could have ended there soon after and not 6 years and another AFL Premiership later.

To this day, I am very thankful that Paul was at the Geelong Football Club, and for the mountainous effort he invested into me and my career and still to this day, even after my retirement.

Long story short, I cannot recommend Paul and all he encompasses highly enough!

Whilst Paul Haines was Rehabilitation Coach at the Gold Coast SUNS, his expertise & professionalism enabled me to successfully recover from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture I sustained in 2013. Following a full knee reconstruction, I successfully returned to competitive AFL football in 2014. Without Paul's care and guidance I wouldn't be in the position I am today to continue my AFL career.

Recovering from an ACL reconstruction was very challenging, however Paul knew how to push me to my limits to get the greatest gains in my rehabilitation & to make me a better athlete. Paul was always extremely professional to work with no matter the circumstances.

I would recommend Paul Haines and Perform to any professional athlete who wants to improve their performance or regain strength and fitness from a serious injury.

Paul Haines worked for the AFL in 2008 with the Australian International Rules Team and the Victorian Team as part of the State of Origin Match played at the MCG.

Paul was the Fitness Coach for both teams and worked closely with the Coaches and Team Management to organise the team itineraries and manage the fitness program.

Paul was well organised and respected by the players and undertook his role within the team very professionally. He always worked hard to achieve the best results for the players and his ultimate goal was team success.

I would highly recommend Paul Haines as a Coach to get any sportsperson to the next level.

Working with Paul for over the last 12 months has been exceptional.

Coming off the back of injury, Paul has helped me return to play fitter and stronger then ever before!

This has been accompanied by an increase in performance on match days and an ability to recover adeptly in between games to perform at my peak throughout the season. Paul's professionalism has been second to none in all areas, his enthusiastic attitude is contagious and has only driven me to achieve more!

I would thoroughly recommend Paul's services to any school group or sporting club looking for a combination of performance training & education.

I used Paul for our Cross Country Camp this year. His enthusiastic and very genuine approach meant that he established rapport with our boys early. The training session he conducted gave the boys a taste of what it takes to be elite; but more importantly, the knowledge acquired from Paul was invaluable for them. We will be using him again!
